March 20, 2020: Cancellation of Elective Surgeries and Procedures
Out of an abundance of caution due to COVID-19 and to limit the risk of exposure to patients and staff, Minneapolis VA Health Care System is cancelling all elective surgeries and procedures, effective immediately and until further notice. All patients that fall into this category will be contacted by the facility before Wednesday, March 18, 2020.

March 19, 2020: Changes to MVAHCS Visitor Policy
(Updated March 20, 2020) We care deeply about the safety and well-being of our Veterans, visitors and staff. As a result, we feel we need to implement a visitor policy to minimize exposure and provide guidance for all of you in these challenging times. As of Thursday, March 20, 2020 there will be no visitors across our health care system, we understand this will be challenging as we understand the benefits and needs of having visitors, we ask that you understand and support us in the decision.

March 11, 2020: Screening Points in Effect
To keep Veterans, employees, volunteers and visitors safe, we have set up Coronavirus screening areas at our Medical Center and VA Community Clinics. The Medical Center screening area is located at the Outpatient Entrance. This is an important precautionary measure that will add some time entering the Medical Center. Please plan to arrive early.

If you have a routine visit scheduled and you are experiencing a cough, fever or shortness of breath that does not require medical attention, please call 612-467-1100 and reschedule your appointment.

2020 Road Work!
Major road work will be conducted around the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport from April to October 2020. Plan for extra time when traveling to the Minneapolis VA Medical Center.
